We build retaining walls, exotic patios, outdoor fireplaces, stunning driveways and walk ways. Using only the highest quality materials available on the market and our best workmanship, we will build something that is guaranteed to last. We will work closely with you to ensure that we clearly understand your goals.

Our Process Guide

STEP 1 - PLANNING

Before excavating, the best way to start is to create a project plan. . A basic sketch with precise measurements will be required so our team can determine the right amount of materials which are going to be used to complete your project.

STEP 2 - EXCAVATION

Another most important step is excavation. This is the base which is literally holding the whole project up. The more effort you put into the development of the base, more durable it will be. To guarantee that there is no settling over time, we following a very strict excavation procedure. All of our driveways are excavated to a minimum depth of 12 inches, but may be more depending on the depth of the clay base or bedrock. All of the soft topsoil material needs to be extracted. For patios and walkways, we follow the same strict process but generally an 8-inch base is more than adequate.

STEP 3 - BACKFILL AND COMPACT

The right materials correctly compacted will resist movement and prevent pavers from settling over time due to various weather conditions. In most cases we use a crusher run base, with generally 1 inch of brick sand or limestone screenings directly under the pavers. The base is backfilled and compacted every 2 inches

STEP 4 - GRADING

If there is a need of drainage system it can be installed additionally. The main goal is to make the base evenly graded. Grading is commonly achieved by installing removable pipes or metal screed guides which result a completely leveled project. As long as the final product flattened- less likely that an unwanted settling over time will occur. The major movement in interlocking appears because of collection of the water in unleveled ares which can damage the base under the pavers. Spending more time on this step is necessary to make the base perfectly leveled.

STEP 5 - INSTALLATION

This is the step where the installation of the pavers begins. According to design and stone choices, the bulk of the stone is installed while still leaving room for slight changes which are common on larger projects. Usually the excavation of the base goes a little bit larger than necessary to ensure that changes can be made and additional charges can be avoided. Once all of the stone is installed, we fill the joints in with a special polymer based sand to prevent weed growth (One of the most common problems with interlocking). Depending on the type of stone, normally our team at Royal Green Landscaping & Lawn Care compact the stone from the top, to compress the sand in the joints, then apply a top-up of polymeric sand.

STEP 6 - SOFTSCAPING

After the layout of interlock is complete, we finish the job with softscaping ( sodding, flower beds, landscape lighting, sprinkler systems, fencing, tree planting )

STEP - 7 FINAL INSPECTION

Once the project design  is completed, our team representatives do a final inspection by going through the entire project to make sure all of the work is completed to your expectations.
